In 2021, SandSJ’s physical office opened at 34 Pennington Avenue in Trenton, New Jersey. The Catholic church formerly owned the building, Our Lady of the Divine Shepherd Church, and was the home to Our Lady of Divine Shepherd nuns. It is over 40 years old; no critical upgrades since then to the building, and much work is necessary to revitalize and modernize our office. For example, the HVAC systems need replacement, the kitchen must be ripped apart and rebuilt, and the windows, rugs, and doors need replacement to ensure the building is secure and safe for staff. In September, a representative from Homeland Security conducted a risk assessment on the structure. As you can imagine, we need to complete a list of urgent recommendations to create a safer working place for our staff. This important and necessary project costs one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00).
